Oludeniz

Ölüdeniz is a famous place located in Fethiye, Muğla. It has natural and beautiful beaches. A lot of tourists visit Ölüdeniz every year. People can swim and sunbathe in the beautiful sea and beaches. Also people can go paragliding and some other enjoyable activities.

General Information

Location: Located in Fethiye, Muğla, at the conjunction of the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas.

Nicknames: Often referred to as the "Blue Lagoon" or the "Turquoise Coast".

Distance: Approximately 14 km (9 miles) south of Fethiye city center.

The Lagoon: A calm, glass-like sea even during storms, which is why it is called "Dead Sea" (Ölüdeniz).

(Lagün: Fırtınalarda bile cam gibi durgun bir denizi vardır; bu yüzden adı Ölüdeniz'dir.)

Belcekız Beach: The main public beach area located right at the entrance of the lagoon.

(Belcekız Plajı: Lagünün hemen girişinde bulunan ana halk plajı alanıdır.)

Nature Reserve: Most of the lagoon area is a national park and protected site.

Main Activities 

Tandem Paragliding: Flying from Babadağ Mountain (approx. 1,900m) to the beach is one of the world's best paragliding experiences.

Boat Trips: Daily tours to Butterfly Valley (Kelebekler Vadisi) and St. Nicholas Island.

Scuba Diving & Snorkeling: Crystal clear waters offer great visibility for underwater activities.

Currency: Turkish Lira (TRY) is the official currency, but many places accept Euros or British Pounds.

Best Time to Visit: From May to October for the best swimming weather.

Medical Services: There are English-speaking doctors and pharmacies (Eczane) available in the area.
